Issac Mizrahi

Yesterday, we had the tour of Issac Mizrahi's studio, arranged by our generous friend Veronica Webb who has modeled for him for years and is a close friend. It was an amazing tour. Colleen knew his Spring 08 line and was able to recognize the "Tiffany Box" dress being sewn by one of his couture garment staff. They were quite impressed by Colleen, I must say. We saw the large area where his television show was filmed, the pattern makers area, and were able to look through the dresses from past collections in a private room where select customers are invited for fittings. Most interesting to me was the room we were allowed in where they were working on his new Target line. No photos allowed, but the walls were filled with prints and scraps and ideas for inspiration. You could see all the influences they were drawing upon for the upcoming line. It looked exactly like I imagined it would...a great thanks to Veronica for her amazingly generous arrangement of this special tour.
